I am taking English I class at Kankakee Community College. This blog is an ongoing assignment to each student for the purpose of personal expressions. I believe this is very good to do. Personally, I have had blog exposure in the past with my own blog, which incidentally, I did not keep up to date on and then lost even what it was. Now, I am back into this and with a greater passion to stay committed to post here.
I am enjoying this assignment thus far. It has and will teach me many things about reading, writing, and expression of personal views to the public via Internet. Basically, I had been a really private person and only listed few friends on social media sites (eg. Facebook, Linked-in, etc.), but now need to become more outgoing so that, not only me, but all those around me, take on our own identity in this world (esp. WWW). We are living in a very large, but small world, so to speak because so many inventions make all of us like immediate neighbors all around the world. Whether it be mechanical means, like transportation, or telecommunications, like phones and cell phones, and now the WWW. All these inventions make the world so much smaller and all peoples closely united in our living spaces. These social media sites have been useful to doing this; however, some people, like me can feel a major invasion of real privacy. And therefore, I need to overcome some of this and expose my true feelings. In spite of how controversial they may be.
So, today, this is my introduction to the world and especially my classmates, that I am here. And with a passion to open up.

Late summer rain
The delite of this late Summer rain. I am purely thankful for this refreshing drink of natures gift. Have I always appreciated the rain? NO. Truthfully, I generally have despised rain. Now, this summer taught me and others the precious value of rain.
It is a real blessing. Thanks be to God.

August summer
Well, I am off running. What this is that I an an older adult returning to college and I must say that I am really thrilled and happy. I am enrolled at Kankakee Community College and have started my general studies into Paralegal course. This adventure in my life started back in May 2012 when I came to Kankakee to live in a men's homeless shelter on Fifth Avenue. You see, I had become homeless as a forty-three year old male because I lost my job in January. That was a temporary job anyway because in June 2011, I lost my REAL job as a truck driver. I was at fault to a vehicular accident (minor injuries) and so I was terminated. Time went on and I tried to pay bills but eventually lost everything back in May.
But, I chose to make a better life and put steps in place to change my painful ways and become a college student. I have always like legal affairs and once said to a friend in high school that maybe I should become a lawyer; but, failed to pursue that field. So, I am thankful that I can have a second chance at life and take up my full desire to be in the law field in one way or another. Kankakee Community College is one good accredited school that has the paralegal program, and I simply feel lucky to find it.
What does all this have to do with August summer? Well, going to college is the way that adults young and old turn over a new life and go after their dreams to make it in the world. This is like the summer past when trees blossomed in spring and offered shade in the summer and now slowly make the change to the fall season. Adults are like that, including me for sure. I had big dreams in my youth but for some reason failed to fullfill them. Now as life has gone by, I have changed and now appreciate the simple beauty of changing seasons.
So, I vow to hang in there and follow my new dream and that spring will come again.
